Atlas Heat Pumps designs and installs Mitsubishi cold-climate heat pump systems for homes in Ithaca, Tompkins County, and nearby Finger Lakes communities. We are a Mitsubishi Elite Diamond Contractor and a NYS Clean Heat participating contractor.
Every cold-climate heat pump we install provides both heating and air conditioning. We design each system around the home instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all equipment package. That means checking the heating load, layout, existing ductwork, electrical capacity, equipment location, refrigerant-line route, drainage, and rebate requirements before recommending a system.
A heat pump installer should do more than select equipment from a square-footage chart. The system must be sized for the home’s heating load and selected for its capacity during an Ithaca winter. The quality of the piping, electrical protection, drainage, testing, and startup work also affects comfort, efficiency, reliability, and equipment life.
Atlas specializes in Mitsubishi heat pumps. We install complete systems and provide ongoing service for the systems we install. During your free in-home estimate, we explain the available designs, show you preliminary pricing, and identify the details that will determine your final installed cost.
Atlas installs several types of Mitsubishi heat pump systems. The right choice depends on your home, your existing heating system, and how you want the finished installation to look.
A ducted heat pump can often replace a forced-air oil, propane, or natural gas furnace. It provides central heating and air conditioning through ductwork. We evaluate the existing ducts before determining whether they can be reused or need changes.
Many Ithaca homes are best served by a combination of equipment. One part of the house may use a concealed ducted air handler while another uses wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or ceiling-recessed units. Mitsubishi systems allow us to design around the home instead of forcing every room into the same solution.
