Many Ithaca homes are best served by a combination of equipment. One part of the house may use a ducted air handler with existing ductwork while another uses wall-mounted, floor-mounted, or ceiling-recessed units. Mitsubishi systems allow us to design around the home instead of forcing every room into the same solution. This install in Cayuga Heights had steam radiators and a finished basement. So we ran ductwork to a new air handler in the attic for the second floor and then installed a combination of low-wall and high-wall heads on the first floor since ductwork was not a viable option due to the finished basement. All those indoor units are tied to this single outdoor unit.

A Great Option to Add Air-Conditioning if You Already Have a Forced-Air Gas Furnace
Mitsubishi intelli-HEAT can add heat-pump heating and air conditioning to a compatible existing furnace. This may be appropriate when a homeowner wants to reduce fossil-fuel use while retaining the furnace as part of the system. Compatibility and rebate eligibility must be confirmed for each home.
